Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) in Business and Administration are designed to equip those working in business and administration with the skills and knowledge they need to demonstrate competence in their job role.
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) are work-based qualifications. They work as a guarantee that someone can do their job well and to the national standards for their sector.
At SCQF level 6, candidates have a broad range of activities with significant complexity, responsibility and autonomy, often in a supervisory or team-leading role. Mandatory units cover managing workload, communicating and planning, and improving own performance in a business environment. There is again a wide range of optional units including work responsibilities, document production and design, managing events, customer service, managing business resources, and managing information and data.
The aim of this course is to enable people working in Administration or Office Technology to improve their working practice by developing their skills, knowledge and understanding of the routine Administrative role in the workplace. This level will suit you if you are building up your experience and have some relevant knowledge and skills. You are working under supervision and have some responsibility.
Development and progression opportunities are also available. Recognised by colleges and universities across the UK, learners could also progress to further study at many universities. Learners show they have the skills to succeed which can also result in further development. Promotion within their current workplace may be possible.
